Serve the Lord Continually
Daniel 6:16 NKJV "So the king gave the command, and they brought Daniel and cast him into the den of lions. But the king spoke, saying to Daniel, "Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you."
Daniel’s walk with God was so consistent that the king of the land saw it. Daniel did not change his walk with God because things around him changed. I truly believe we, too, can live this kind of consistent life, never in our own strength but through the power of the Holy Spirit, regardless of what our culture does or how our emotions react. We probably have all been guilty at some point and to some degree of behaving according to who we are with. When we do this, we are not living a consistent life. To serve God continually, we cannot be concerned about fitting into the mold others have made. We simply must refuse to back away from our open, personal relationship with the Almighty. It is a beautiful thing to watch a life lived with true, godly, consistent, humble conviction–dare I say a God-fearing, God-honoring life.
Consider this verse about Daniel:
Daniel 6:10 NKJV Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.
I firmly believe Daniel was not putting on a show as the Pharisees of Jesus’ day did, but was rather living out true faith without hiding it.
Lord, may we be more able to live a consistent, godly life! In Jesus' name, amen.
